Introduction

Sitrah (Arabic: سترة), also spelled as Sitra without "h") is a port city in northeastern Bahrain. It was a municipality of Bahrain in the eastern part of the country. The region of Sitrah consists of the island of Sitrah and three villages close to it on the main island of Bahrain.[1] Sitrah handles Bahrains's entire petroleum production. It is also the export centre for the oil fields in northeastern Saudi Arabia. [2]
